Marnix Maas obtained a PhD from the Delft University of Technology on the development of detector modules for high-resolution positron emission tomography (PET). He then joined the Radiotherapy department of the Netherlands Cancer Institute - Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital in Amsterdam, where he worked on the implementation of functional magnetic resonance imaging methods such as diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) imaging for radiotherapy treatment planning in, amongst others, prostate, head & neck and cervix tumors. Since October 2010 he is with the Biomedical MR research group at the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of the Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen. He currently focuses on exploiting current state-of-the-art multiparametric (DWI, DCE, MRSI) MR methods for the diagnostic assessment of prostate cancer at 3T, as well as the development of anatomical and functional imaging methods at 7T. This includes high-resolution anatomical and diffusion weighted imaging of the prostate, as well as imaging of pelvic lymph nodes.
