Sjoerd Ypma is a PhD-candidate in the Biomedical MR research group department of Radiology of Radboud university medical center, Nijmegen. In august 2018 he obtained a MSc. degree in High Energy Particle Physics at the Radboud University, Nijmegen. For his master's thesis, he studied the data of proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider, CERN to find characteristics of Dark Matter. After his master, he learned more about data science and worked for 1.5 years at the ministry of Defence as data scientist. With the start of his PhD studentship Sjoerd switched research fields to work as a junior researcher in MR physics under the supervision of Tom Scheenen. Sjoerd's current work involves MRI motion correction techniques for the detection of primary tumors in the upper abdomen in the project: QuantiTative MRI of Esophageal Cancer -- QuantiTEC
