I am an MRI physicist with a specialisation in musculoskeletal magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy. My methodological work focuses on the development of quantitative MR protocols, with the aim of maximising sensitivity to changes in muscle fat content, architecture, and microstructure with interventions. In terms of application areas, I have a long-standing interest in skeletal muscle, neuromuscular disorders, and the effect of ageing on muscle function. As part of my role in the BioMR group, I act as a bridge between the Departments of Medical Imaging and Neurology at Radboudumc: developing and applying quantitative imaging methods for applications in muscle, and consulting on (whole-)body imaging protocols for natural history studies and clinical trials.
