Marnix Maas is an MR Physicist in the Medical Physics and Biomedical MR groups within the department of Medical Imaging at Radboudumc. He obtained a MSc degree at Delft University of Technology, and a PhD degree at the same university on the development of MRI-compatible detectors for pre-clinical PET systems. He has been specialising in MRI since 2007, initially at the department of Radiation Oncology of the Netherlands Cancer Institute - Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital in Amsterdam, focusing on functional MR methods such as diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) imaging for radiotherapy treatment planning. He joined the BioMR group at Radboudumc in 2010, investigating functional MR methods in prostate cancer and developing imaging methods for prostate and pelvic lymph nodes at 7T. Since 2015, he has been part of the Medical Physics group, where he is -amongst others- responsible for MRI related research support. His current research interest lies in image reconstruction, with a focus on free-breathing, motion-compensated imaging in abdomen and thorax.
