This thesis improves prostate MRI by developing advanced techniques at higher field strengths (3T and 7T). It shows that multiparametric MRI and MR spectroscopy can better detect and characterize prostate cancer, although higher fields introduce technical challenges. New methods—such as improved coils, RF-shimming, and optimized spectroscopy—make high-resolution imaging and metabolic analysis feasible. Overall, 7T MRI offers strong potential for more accurate diagnosis, but further optimization is needed for routine clinical use.
